BRIEF REPORT
from INVESTIGATOR MAGAZINE 228 INVESTIGATOR 228 (2026 May)
PARANORMAL ARITHMATIC in the USA
America's President Trump, defending the excellence of his policies, publicly announced that the prices of prescription drugs will decline by up to 600 per cent. Senator Elizabeth Warren at a committee meeting criticized Trump's bad mathematics. A price can't go down further than 100% because a reduction of 100% brings it down to zero. The drugs, if the price decreased by 100%, would be given away. In the Oval Office in April, flanked by high officials standing and Trump seated, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, defended the President: "If the drug was $100 and it raises to $600, that would be a 600 per cent rise. If it drops from $600 to $100, that's a 600 per cent savings." Firstly, a rise from $100 to $600 is a $500 rise — that's a 500% rise not 600%. Secondly, a price decrease from $600 to $100 is a $500 decrease. The decrease is 5/6 of the total. As a percentage the decrease or saving would be 500/600 x 100 = 83.3% not 600%. ______________________________________
BERMUDA TRIANGLE
Vanished ships and missing planes in paranormal numbers were blamed on UFOs, time warps, black holes, energy beams from crystals that powered Atlantis, sea quakes, and what not. That's the Bermuda Triangle. Under World News Headlines at https://www.9news.com.au/world on May 2 came the following shocking statement: "Records show that only 361 marine incidents inside the triangle from a dataset of more than 150,000, while modern shipping data suggests the risk may be far lower than the global average." Apparently Investigator writers, since edition #62 got it right all along — ships and planes do not go missing in excessive numbers in the Bermuda triangle. |
