IRAQ CASUALTIES

The
Weekend
Australian Magazine says that over 100,000 Iraqis went missing
under the West’s occupation from 2005 to 2007 mainly due to the violent
insurgency and sectarian killings between Sunni and Shia. (October 1-2,
2011)
However,
it adds that
under Saddam Hussein millions disappeared — about 4 million from the
past 30 years are missing. The article says: "the United States Agency
for International Development announced in 2004 that 270 mass graves
had been discovered, containing more than 400,000 bodies. That number
of graves has now reached 360…"
The
invasion was
neither a war for oil nor a plot led by President Bush to expand
Christian influence, but necessary to stop Saddam Hussein's violence
expanding indefinitely.
Iraq
now has a chance
to become prosperous which hopefully it will succeed at before the
water runs out. The underground water sources (aquifers) are drying up
everywhere (New Scientist, November 8, 2008, p. 8) which, coupled with
reduced rain in West Asia from climate change, high human birth rates,
and upstream building of dams sets the stage for future conflict.
The
West is already
keeping several hundred million Muslims alive by exporting to them
water in the form of food (which requires water to produce) and is
sometimes called "virtual water". America and Europe won't be able to
sustain such export when climate-change intensifies.
The Arab/Muslim
nations need to "get their house in order" while they are able
to. The Bible suggests that even the Nile can dry up. (Isaiah 19)
