THE
BIBLE:
A
TEXTBOOK FOR HEALTH
Anonymous
(Investigator 54, 1997 May)
The Bible has lots of
health-promoting counsel.
This we expect from
scriptures such as:
I came that they may
have life, and have
it more abundantly.
(John 10:10)
My son, be attentive to my
words
For they are
life to
him who finds them,
and healing
to all
their flesh.
(Proverbs
4:20-22)
Consider an example.
Kaye (1978) wrote: "If you have recognized
how much you and
others prize being understood, you will also have recognized how
important
it is for you to do your best to understand them."
Pennebaker & Susman
(1988) wrote:
"We have
demonstrated
that the disclosure
of important personal events has physical and psychological benefits."
Compare:
Let each of you look not
only to his own
interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:4)
Therefore confess you sins
to one another,
and pray for one another, that you may be healed. (James 5:l6)
If you're interested in
health issues and want
to know how to maximise your chances of a long healthy life an
essential
reference is The Holy Bible.
