FALSE CHRISTIAN PROPHECIES
SUPPORT THE BIBLE

Many Investigator Magazine articles list failed predictions made by "Christians" supposedly using the Bible.

For example:

Investigator refers to false predictions by

In debate with Allan Lang I wrote: "By comparing Acts 2:17 with 2 Peter 3:8 we get an idea of the time scale involved – thousands of years." (No. 38 p. 31)

Similarly in No. 31 p. 36 I wrote: "We would expect, therefore, the Christian era to last at least 2,000 years. Predictions by various people for 1260, 1700, 1844, 1914, 1975, etc therefore had to be wrong and were wrong." (Underlining added)

This reasoning would also apply to the many "Christian" doomsday predictions Investigator is dredging up for the year 2000!

Just as skeptics eventually turn out wrong when they challenge historical or scientific points in the Bible, so also do prognosticators and prophets turn out wrong when they try to date future events using the Bible. Jesus warned that there would be many such. (Matthew 24:4-5, 36)

My article Making Sense of Jesus’ Prophecy (No. 60) explains Matthew 24 and Luke 21 and shows that Jesus' prophecy makes sense taken literally.
