GOD REVISES A PROMISE!

(Investigator  45, 1995 November)

January 1982 AWAKE! magazine had the claim:

"Most importantly, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new order before the generation that saw the events of 1914 C.E. passes away."
The November 8 1995 edition had this changed to:
"Most important, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new world that is about to replace the present wicked, lawless system of things."
Originally the cult started "this generation" in 1799.  Then 1878, 1900/1905, and 1914/1918. Always generation meant generation but The Watchtower (November 1) has altered the definition of "generation" to make it indefinitely long – the tactic INVESTIGATOR suggested would be used! (No. 35 p. 37)

With the "Creator" apparently a liar using false prophecy to get converts to part with their money and to "witness" door to door it is indeed a "wicked, lawless system of things."

In addition to repeated changes to "this generation" the JW prophecies are also known to have failed for the dates 1878, 1881, 1906, 1910, 1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1924, 1925, 1928, 1935/36, 1941/42, 1975.

Will millions now living who thought they'd never die now realize they've been had? (Matthew 24:23-27)

The Watchtower (November 1 p. 20) says:

"Does our more precise viewpoint on ‘this generation' mean that Armageddon is further away than we bad thought? Not at all!"
For this to be the case their other predictions of Armageddon "within our twentieth century" must still be valid! (Investigator 21 pp.15-17; 43 p. 48)
